Interested in helping new Mom's and their families?
Below is the many volunteer opportunities for this amazing Ministry:
Care Caller – This person would provide communication support (twice a month and relay any information such as due date, hospital delivery set etc. or special need requests to Director of the Bay (Ann Habib) who will in turn find the appropriate means in completing the request). They also have the mommy complete a information sheet (shortly after they have joined the Stork Ministry) with all information needed for things that may arise during pregnancy and after delivery for the meals etc.
Mommy Meal Cooker Coordinator – This person creates a 3 meal form for the new Mommy using the website www.takethemameal.com. Our goal is to provide the family these 3 meals three days apart each to span over the first week they are home. The website is awesome because it emails you as the Coordinator when someone signs up so you know the dates are full and they also receive a confirmation email and a reminder email the day before the meal is to be delivered. Also, you can sign up to provide a meal, too and then allow only two others to sign up.
Mommy Meal Cooks – This person receives all Mommy meal forms from the Coordinator and can sign up on the website to provide a meal if they wish. Also, when you sign up to take a meal there is a note box with any additional information on the family such as allergies, things they may not like and number of people you will be serving (ex: 2 adults and 1 child 6yr old, Bob…this allows you to know a kid friendly meal would probably be best).
General Assistant – This person will fill in as any above position and any additional areas such as assisting with childcare of older children when they have a Doctor’s appt, ride to the Dr or Hospital, light housework if Mom on bed rest and any other items that may arise.
Welcome Bag Delivery – Usually the Stork Ministry Leader taking the first meal would deliver this on behalf of BAF and is received from the Director of the Bay (Ann Habib) the weekend prior to the first meal delivered. The bag is filled with awesome stuff for the new baby and Mommy loves to have an extra diaper bag indeed.
